The Lord Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Ps.23:1).

A Shepherd in the natural world is responsible for the upkeep of his sheep. The Bible uses metaphor to describe believers as God’s sheep.

Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his  people, and the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).

If we are God’s sheep, then God is responsible for our upkeep. When David said “I shall not want”, it means he had faith in God’s providence to take care of him. It doesn’t matter the circumstances we face, God is able to take care of us.

Let us learn to trust God and believe in him in every situation of our lives.
